There is training that all new UBC Okanagan Project Service Employees are required to complete. 

These short trainings are designed to help support the health, safety and wellbeing of you, your coworkers and members of the UBC community. Part of UBC’s commitment to our community is to ensure this training is completed in a timely manner.  

The following training must be completed by all workers:

  • New Worker Safety Orientation (UBCO)
  • Preventing and Addressing Workplace Bullying and Harassment (UBCO)
  • Workplace Violence Prevention Training (UBCO)
  • Preventing and Responding to Sexual Misconduct (UBC)
  • Privacy & Information Security Fundamentals Training: Parts 1 & 2 (UBC)
  • General Audience WHMIS (UBCO)
  • Ladder Safety
  • Working at Heights Awareness
  • Confined Space Awareness
  • Heat Stress Awareness
  • Fire Extinguisher Training
  • Working Safely in Laboratories for non-Lab personnel
  • De-energization and Lockout
  • Laser Safety
  • Respirator Fit Testing

Supervisors need to complete additional training Safety Supervision at UBC, which you can enroll in here.
