Full course description

Supporting Mental Health in the Workplace for Managers and Supervisors has been designed specifically for UBC faculty and staff with managerial or supervisory responsibilities such as oversight for direct reports (faculty, staff and student employees).

This training aims to empower managers and supervisors to support their own mental health and the mental health of their direct reports or team(s) by strengthening their understanding of mental health literacy and sharing the practices and tools needed to build psychologically healthy and safe workplaces.

Notice of Course Maintenance

This course will be closed for maintenance from 4 pm on August 2, 2024.

In response to feedback, we made some updates and revisions to the training, including: 

  • Additional navigation support for training interface, including an instructional video 
  • Accessibility improvements (ASL interpretation, ‘focus order’ capabilities for screen readers, alt text and format)
  • Updated outdated content

Important:

If you are still working through the training, please complete it and obtain your certificate. Any progress you have made will be lost once we close the course at 4 pm on August 2. Please check that you have clicked ‘Finish Training’ to ensure your certificate is issued.

The new version of the training will be available on your dashboard starting August 8, 2024. If you wish to complete the course after August 8, you will be able to access the training through the existing Canvas course page.
