Course Objectives: This course provides the information for anyone who needs to assign and maintain costing allocations for UBC employees.

Learning Outcomes: By the end of the course, learners should be able to... 

  • Outline the purpose of costing allocations
  • Define the different types of costing allocation and how they relate to one another
  • Retrieve information on existing allocations for a position and/or worker
  • Create new allocations for a position and/or worker
  • Identify and correct mistakes in existing allocations

Audience: HR Analyst, HR Partner, Senior HR Partner, FR Executive, Senior FR Partner, Finance HCM Partner, Finance Director, Manager, Cost Center Manager (Workday Security Roles)

Course Format: Online, Self-Serve

Course Duration: 1-2 Hours

Course Requirements: Prior to taking this course, learners should first complete the following:

  • Workday Basics
  • Workday Finance Foundations
  • HR Analyst / HR Partner Training (optional)

Assessment: There is no formal assessment or certification for this course. However, there are several short exercises throughout the course designed to aid understanding and knowledge retention.
