About this workshop 
Established by the Mental Health Commission of Canada, the Working Mind is an evidence-based training program designed to address and promote mental health and reduce stigma in a workplace setting. It includes scenario-based practical applications, custom videos of people with lived experience of mental illness, participant reference guides, and related handouts. 
Date and Location
Part 1: January 18, 2022: 9-12pm and Part 2: January 25, 2022: 9-1pm. (Both parts mandatory)

Managers, supervisors, and team leads.
Your facilitator
Amanda Swoboda is with Workplace Health and Wellbeing, Human Resources UBC Okanagan. Amanda’s (she/her) work involves coordinating health promotion events, campaigns, delivering mental health training, and consulting with leaders and teams to support psychological health and safety in the workplace. Amanda is passionate about empowering individual wellness and safe and supportive workplace culture. Amanda has over 20 years of experience working in community mental health settings, from supporting individuals as part of the de-institutionalization movement, psycho-social programming, community based research and workplace mental health training. Amanda has a Bachelor Degree in Social Work.

  • Support their employees’ mental health and well-being
  • Enable all employees to be more fully productive
  • Ensure the workplace climate respects and involves all employees, including those with mental health problems
  • Encourage employees to seek help for mental health problems
