About this Workshop

The prospect of talking to young people about sex and sexual health can be a difficult one, often made more challenging by a lack of knowledge, personal discomfort or shame. These conversations don’t need to be feared or avoided. Why not arm yourself with knowledge, age-appropriate information and fantastic resources?

At this session, you will learn comprehensive age appropriate body science and sexual health information on the path to starting and continuing this lifelong conversation. You will also take away a helpful formula for answering questions and learn about some fantastic resources for both parents and children of any age. Help provide the young people in your life with the tools to keep themselves safe and to make healthy and informed decisions.

Who is this for?

This workshop is suitable for parents, guardians and askable adults of children pre-school age and up.

Your facilitator

This session will be facilitated by Miranda Massie a certified community sexual health educator. Miranda is also the Workplace Wellbeing Practices & Learning Consultant in UBC's Human Resource Department.
