The Traveling Health Fair took place in February, 2022!

This health event is put on once a year at no charge to faculty, staff and postdoctoral fellows to provide information, awareness, self-assessment and personalized consultation on health topics of importance to you.  

This year's theme was Whole Health, focusing on the many small changes in our daily lives that can make a big difference to our physical and mental wellbeing.

Preventive Health facilitated by UBC clinical pharmacist and lecturer Adrian Ziemczonek

Preventive health is a term used to describe the things we do to protect ourselves from developing diseases and health problems. Many risk factors for the development of common chronic conditions such as type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis, and heart disease are the same. Join this webinar to learn more about the importance of preventive health, common risk factors, and measures that can be taken to lead a healthier lifestyle.

A Healthy Mind facilitated by UBC clinical pharmacist and lecturer Timothy Lim

Mental health can affect daily living, relationships, and physical health. This webinar will review characteristics that make up a healthy mind, factors that can affect our mental health, and strategies to maintain good mental health. Join us while we highlight the important connection between mental and physical health and explore resources available to support your mental health and resilience.

Insomnia and Healthy Sleep Habits – Friday February 18, 2022 from 1-1:45pm facilitated by UBC clinical pharmacist and lecturer Tiana Tilli 

Sleep is important for your physical and emotional health and essential for your body and brain to function properly. When it comes to your health, sleep is as vital as regular exercise and eating a balanced diet. Join this webinar to learn more about the importance of sleep, factors that can affect sleep, and strategies to improve your sleep quality.

Appointments for a one-on-one virtual consultation with an expert pharmacist (up to 30 minutes) is also still available that includes:

  • Review of personal risk factors and health status
  • Help to set personal health goals
  • Personalized action plans for optimal physical and mental health
