Full course description
Dates: March 2, March 9, March 16, March 23.
Attendance: Sessions can be attended as single sessions or as a series.
Time: 12:15 p.m. - 12:45 p.m.
Attend this four part mindfulness series which will include:
Session 1: Meditation for deeper awareness
+ This would be for the mind-body and nervous system and a great intro meditation for anyone who has challenges sitting still in traditional meditation styles
Session 2: Meditation for focus and mental clarity
+ this would be focused on the mind
Session 3: Meditation and our emotions: how meditating can help us process and relate to our feelings
+ this is an experiential meditation that uses the body to demonstrate how meditation translates to real-life practice.
Session 4: Meditation + breathwork for relaxation and calm
+ this would be for nervous system regulation specifically and incorporate specific breathing patterns.
Melissa Nkomo is a mindfulness practitioner and founder of Kunye (www.kunye.co). Melissa marries the best of ancient wisdom with contemporary science to bring the power of breath, consciousness, and embodiment to individuals and organizations across Canada. Melissa is a lululemon ambassador, a role she uses to champion more inclusive representations of wellness and access for marginalized and under-represented individuals in Vancouver.
