Audience: All faculty and staff at UBC Vancouver and Okanagan
This seminar will allow participants to explore how their thoughts can cause decreases in productivity and passions. Participants will be able to explore complex views that define thoughts and action plans to overcome them.
At the end of this seminar, participants will be able to do the following:
- Define cognitive thinking
- Increase awareness of your own thinking traps and those of others
- Begin to see how both you and others fall into these thinking traps so easily and how they can lead to performance and behaviour issues
- How to reverse these thinking traps for yourself
- Be able to help others reverse their thinking traps
Steve Porcaro (he/him) from UBC’s Employee and Family Assistance Provider, LifeWorks. Steve is an executive coach, trainer, and facilitator with over 25 years of experience in business, sales, leadership and team development. He works with leaders and their teams to reduce stress and improve performance. Steve is passionate about helping executives create the life and business they deserve.
Steve uses a communicative approach that allows individuals and teams to better understand themselves and then to better understand others. He is a frequent speaker on communication, stress and teamwork. His interactive presentations & workshops provide the participants with information, skills and tools that can be used immediately. His experience includes, employing assessments, feedback, coaching, advisory boards, meeting facilitation, training and support to fine tune skills of managers and teams at all levels-from first line to senior executives-in a variety of organizations.
Steve is the Past-President of the CT Chapter of the International Coach Federation, A Certified Master OASIS Trainer, and a Certified Professional Behaviors Analyst. He is a graduate of Coach U’s Advanced Coaching program and is a life-long learner with continuing education programs for coaching, business, management.
