Stress Relaxation Techniques

Starts Sep 28, 2022

Full course description

Date: Wednesday, September 28, 2022

Time: 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. PST

Audience: All faculty and staff at UBCV/O

Location: Zoom

Join us for this one hour session, focusing on how we can make time to calm down and reduce stress by using both proactive and reactive relaxation techniques.

Our minds and bodies need rest and recovery breaks to allow us to relax and reduce the effects of stress. Sure, we will sometimes experience days that are hectic and unfocused, but if we find ourselves consistently feeling stressed out, rushed, or on the go -- this can have a detrimental impact on a person. If we are in a constant state of stress we increase our risk of experiencing serious physical concerns, such heart disease or stroke. Take some time learn some helpful stress relaxation techniques, delivered by our Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) provider: LifeWorks.

In this session, participants will learn to:

  • Understand the stress response and how it works
  • Discuss the importance of managing stress for optimal health
  • Practice stress reducing exercises
