About this training
This training introduces trauma-informed approaches in the workplace - practical strategies that recognize the widespread impact of trauma and aim to reduce harm while fostering a culture of wellbeing.
Grounded in current research, it features insights from UBC faculty and staff who bring both deep subject matter expertise and hands-on experience applying trauma-informed approaches across our Vancouver and Okanagan campuses.
By the end of this training, you'll gain:
- Foundational understanding of trauma-informed approaches through research-backed content,
- Practical strategies to enhance comunication, teaching, and workplace culture,
- Lessons and reflections from colleagues about the tangible impact of trauma-informed practices in their roles at UBC,
- Tools to help build a more supportive environment for learning, research, and collaboration.
Research shows that applying trauma-informed approaches help create more inclusive, accessible, and psychologically safe environments - places where everyone can better work, study, research, and thrive.
