Date: August 24 AND August 25, 2021 **You will need to attend the full 2-day training in order to receive your certificate.

 

Time: 09:00 - 4:30 (both days)

 

Location: Skeena House Lounge (114), **PLEASE NOTE: this is an in-person, live training session.

 

Who is this for?

UBC Okanagan Faculty and Staff

 

What will you learn?

At a LivingWorks ASIST workshop, you'll learn how to help prevent suicide by recognizing signs of risk, providing a skilled intervention, and developing a safety plan to keep someone alive. Two knowledgeable, supportive trainers will guide you through the course, ensuring your comfort and safety.

 

Your facilitators

ASIST is co- facilitated by two certified trainers.

Amanda Swoboda, BSW, is the Wellbeing Specialist with UBCO Human Resources and has over 20 years experience working in community mental health.

Aaryn Secker, MEd, is the Associate Director, Education and Health Promotion for the Canadian Mental Health Association, Kelowna Branch.

 

Important Information:

This training requires a minimum number of registrants. If the minimum is not met, the training will be cancelled and scheduled later in the year. Registrants will be notified prior to the course.

There is no cost to this training

You will need to attend the full 2-day training in order to receive your certificate.
