Who is this for: This workshop is open to all UBCO Faculty & Staff

While universities are progressively moving towards inclusive decision-making and distributed leadership, the inherent hierarchical structure poses challenges, particularly in conflict resolution. Dealing with conflict can be intricate, and hierarchical relations can exacerbate discomfort and anxiety. This is true for those who fear reprisals and for those aiming to maintain positive relations with their direct reports. Utilizing the innovative Conflict Theatre modality, featuring voluntary role-play, this workshop is strategically designed to empower individuals on both sides of the hierarchical spectrum to communicate respectfully and clearly. The approach remains firmly grounded in UBC's leadership principle of "COLLABORATIVE," valuing others and building relationships for improved outcomes. This ensures that concerns and critiques receive the consideration they deserve. The ultimate goal is to maintain collegiality and a strong sense of a shared mission, aligning with UBC's vision for the Next Century.
