COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course reviews the basic safety considerations and regulatory requirements for working with open and sealed source radiation at UBC, including Permit Holder responsibilities, emission types and biological effects, exposure control, contamination monitoring, waste management, and emergency procedures. This meets the training requirements for Permit Holders who work with Radiation at UBC and have completed the General Radiation Safety for Authorized Users course before.
PREREQUISITE:
The "General Radiation Safety for Authorized Users" course or equivalent UBC course must be completed within the last 3 years.
COURSE STRUCTURE:
This course has one online module followed by a quiz.
