Each member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee must complete 8 hours of training over the first 6 months of their membership called JOHSC Fundamentals. This material is delivered in two parts. Please see the description below for further details. When both parts are complete, your training records will be updated to reflect completing JOHSC Fundamentals.
PART 1
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course covers the purpose of the Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committees (JOHSC), roles and responsibilities for JOHSC members, an overview of policy and regulation and an introduction to JOHSC meetings. Both Part 1 and Part 2 of JOHSC training must be completed within 6 months of becoming a JOHSC Member.
COURSE STRUCTURE:
This course contains a 4-hour online training module and is equivalent to the JOHSC Fundamentals - Part 1 (in-person) course.
PART 2
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course covers inspections and incident investigations as they relate to the role of the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee. Both Part 1 and Part 2 of JOHSC training must be completed within 6 months of becoming a JOHSC Member.
COURSE STRUCTURE:
The in-person sessions (Part 2A and 2B) are being offered through Zoom.
- 1 x 2 hour in-person (via Zoom) session focused on inspections
- 1 x 2 hour in-person (via Zoom) session focused on investigations
Note: Sessions with enrollment below 4 persons will be cancelled and rescheduled.
