COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course prepares a UBC researcher, faculty, staff or student to appropriately dispose of hazardous waste using UBC's Environmental Services Facility and ensures compliance with relevant legislation. The training provides an overview of hazardous waste disposal requirements including waste generator responsibilities, governing regulations, chemical and biological waste streams, the hazardous waste database, and pollution prevention.
PREREQUISITE:
Chemical safety and/or biosafety required. One or both of the following courses must be completed within the last 5 years
• Chemical Safety
• Biosafety for Study Team Members
COURSE STRUCTURE:
The course consists of 1 x 30-minute online module, followed by a quiz.
