Conversational excellence is about having better conversations and communicating more effectively at work and home. Who doesn’t want to have mutually beneficial and enriching conversations? If you want to lead, influence, manage, contribute, participate or work more successfully with others, either individually or as teams, learn how connecting, opening, exploring and closing a conversation leads to healthy and productive discussions. Leveraging coaching and leadership skills and behaviors, UBC’s conversational model is an easy to use framework that helps leaders create healthy connections, attend to complex situations, speak honestly, think boldly and facilitate new insights and mutual learning, while moving towards action.
At the end of this session, participants will:
- Enhance the quality and interpersonal effectiveness of your conversations by learning how to apply the Conversational Compass model in everyday individual, group and team discussions.
- Learn the importance of each element of the model as a means to advance people practices grounded in wellbeing and the values of respect, collaboration and innovation.
- Understand coach-like effectiveness by utilizing an easy conversational compass template when preparing for better workplace conversations
