Full course description
DATE: Thursday, October 28, 2021
TIME: 1:00 - 3:00pm
Increasingly, research shows that being coach-like in our approach to supporting the development of others leads to enhanced engagement and performance outcomes. Whether connecting with employees in-person or virtually, a coach approach, applied to performance development, works to surface additional insights and perspectives, while fostering commitment and accountability. Blending theory with demonstrations and practice, leaders will learn how to apply workplace coaching skills to learning and performance development conversations, thus reducing the stress of performance development and achieving better personal and organizational outcomes.
At the end of this session, participants will:
- Understand how coaching skills compliment and strengthen wider communication skills
- Distinguish between “informal” and “formal” coaching opportunities
- Practice and rehearse the COEC Conversation model and coach-approach skills to a learning and development conversation
