Topic: Build Your Hybrid Team Charter
Date: Thursday Aug 5, 2021
You can help your team to succeed in preparing for a hybrid workplace by creating a team charter. A “charter is a statement of joint purpose created by and agreed to by all team members” (Pilette, 2017). It is created by all of the members of a team, and ensures that everyone can thoughtfully and respectfully align their contributions, expectations and ways of working together with the departments purpose.
In this session, you will work through each step of the charter process, starting with purpose alignment. After that, you’ll begin to define responsibility, composition or roles of the team and discuss approaches to conflict and decision making. Lastly, we will explore how to apply a set of agreed norms to build a shared understanding of how the team will work together in a respectful and trusting manner.
At the end of this session, participants will:
• be able to define the characteristics of the team charter process
• can apply new knowledge when defining their team’s culture
• guide the step-by-step process to create their own team’s charter design
