DESCRIPTION:

The third course in a series of four learning modules focuses on UBC's new performance enablement process, GPS: Goals.Performance.Success. This course explores Check-in Conversations as a central part of the GPS Program. It provides practical prompts and examples to help staff and managers prepare for, participate in, and reflect on regular Check-in Conversations at UBC.

 

There are no prerequisites for this course.

The course is self-directed and virtual, including an audio version for an enhanced learning experience. It takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. Participants must view all pages of the course to achieve completion.

 

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

  1. Describe the purpose and components of Check-in Conversations as part of GPS.
  2. Recognize the roles and responsibilities of managers and staff in conducting effective Check-in Conversations.
  3. Describe the recommended steps involved in conducting effective Check-in Conversations.
  4. Identify options for tracking documentation and follow-up items from Check-in Conversations.
