Full course description
This session builds on the purchase order process to assist faculty and staff decision makers (PIs, Grant Managers, Project Managers) for high value purchasing of goods and services and those faculty and staff responsible for the performance of contracts; ensuring all requirements are addressed effectively within UBC’s guidelines and understanding what to expect when involved with purchases over $75,000.00 CAD (tax exclusive).
High value purchases at UBC are those above $75K CAD and require Procurement's involvement with the competitive or limited competitive purchasing process.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
The session provides you with required information to:
- Understand the regulatory and compliance requirements guiding UBC policies for purchases above $75,000 CAD tax inclusive
- Differentiate between competitive and limited competitive purchase methods
- Identify the factors making a competitive purchase standard or complex
- Summarize the various stages of the competitive procurement process
- Manage your high value purchases effectively within UBC's guidelines
Please note:
This session is not a functional walk through or demonstration of completing purchasing tasks in Workday, Planon or Nav. Please contact the Integrated Service Centre for Workday functional support and the ServiceNow Self Service Portal for other system assistance. This session focuses on the business policies and processes providing the context for required tasks in Workday.
