DESCRIPTION: Join us for an engaging and interactive event as Conflict Theatre presents their Rehearsing Conflict Summer Intensive capstone performance! This event is open to all UBC Faculty and Staff and promises to be a unique and thought-provoking experience.

Our talented troupe of UBC Faculty and Staff will showcase their original plays using the principles of forum theatre and reflexive conflict management. As a member of the audience, you'll have the opportunity to engage directly with the performers and participate in shaping the outcomes of the plays. This is not a passive experience, so come ready to learn, think critically, and be entertained!

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

Gain a deeper understanding of the principles of forum theatre and reflexive conflict management and their potential to promote dialogue, understanding, and creative problem-solving in conflicts.

Develop critical thinking and communication skills by actively engaging in shaping the outcomes of the plays.

Appreciate the transformative power of theatre in exploring and resolving conflicts and its potential as a tool for social change.

INSTRUCTOR: Professor Tom Scholte is the Faculty Lead and Artistic Director of Conflict Theatre. He is the Director of this performance.  

OTHER: Attendees must register through WPL to attend due to limited space in the theatre (80 people maximum).
