Join us for an engaging and practical workshop designed to equip you with the essential workplace coaching skills that foster impactful and effective co-created conversations. Whether you're aiming for personal growth, professional advancement, or seeking to enhance your communication skills within the workplace, this session is tailored to support your journey.

In today's dynamic workplace environments, the ability to engage in meaningful conversations supports learning and development, builds confidence and improves performance. This interactive 2.5-hour in-person workshop and 30-minute pre-work course focuses on developing essential coaching skills that empower individuals to co-create effective conversations and drive positive experiences with their peers, colleagues and teams. Blending content with demonstrations and practice, participants will explore core coaching skills and practice the UBC COEC model (Connect – Open – Explore – Close) to engage in meaningful and effective conversations with others.

This session is open enrollment and welcomes professionals from various roles who want to:

  • Enhance their communication abilities and positively impact their work environment
  • Improve interpersonal dynamics and engage in meaningful interactions
  • Gain valuable insights and develop essential workplace coaching skills.

 

Facilitator:

HEATHER TURNBULL, COC, PCC is the Lead for Coaching Services at UBC and before that was the program lead for UBC Extended Learning’s Certificate in Organizational Coaching. Heather is responsible for setting the direction and professional standards for the successful delivery of Coaching Services, including 1:1, group and team coaching for staff and faculty as well as delivering coaching skills and approaches for people and leaders. Heather's approach is partnership driven with the long-term aspiration that the capabilities, skills and competencies can take root and be given the conditions to thrive and excel on their own. Heather is a certified organizational coach, a certified systemic team coach practitioner with the Global Team Coaching Institute.
