Enroll

Full course description

This session benefits UBC Faculty and Staff and their delegates who make purchases of goods and services over $75K.

This session builds beyond the purchase order process to assist faculty and staff involved in high value purchasing of goods and services; ensuring all requirements are addressed effectively within UBC’s guidelines. High value purchases at UBC are those above $75K and usually require the competitive purchasing process.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
The session provides you with required information to:

  • Understand the regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements guiding UBC policies for purchases above $75,000
  • Differentiate between competitive and non-competitive purchase methods
  • Identify the factors making a competitive purchase standard or complex
  • Summarize the various stages of the competitive procurement process including role responsibilities, and timelines
  • Manage your high value purchases effectively within UBC's guidelines

 Please note:

This session is not a functional walk through or demonstration of completing purchasing tasks in Workday, Planon or Nav. Please contact the Integrated Service Centre for Workday functional support and the ServiceNow Self Service Portal for other system assistance. This session focuses on the business policies and processes providing the context for required tasks in Workday.
